Tanzania Peaberry - Mkibanda 'Microlot' (2016)

This is a Peaberry coffee from the Kanyovu Producer Organisation (KCCCJE) in the Kigoma region of Tanzania. Kanyovu was formed in 2004 when 11 separate cooperatives merged, one of them being the Mkibanda cooperative that this lot hails from. Altitude for Mkibanda and partner cooperatives is around 1,750 masl. After harvest, farmers deliver their cherry to one of the respective 21 mills associated with KCCCJE where coffee is pulped using Penagos pulpers. These pulpers are designed to remove mucilage, so there is no fermentation applied before coffee is laid out to sun dry.
