Sulawesi G1 Wet Hulled - Mamasa Valley
About This Coffee
This is a Grade 1 wet-hulled coffee from Sulawesi. It was cultivated near the the Mamasa Valley in the western province of Sulawesi. The Mamasa Valley, or “lovely valley” in Mamasanese, rests in the shadow of peaks rising to 3,000 masl, and is home to coffee growing at 1,500 masl. This coffee is “wet-hulled,” which is an abbreviated drying process, unique to the exceedingly wet climate of Indonesia, during which coffee is only partially dried while in parchment, and then fully dried only after the parchment has been removed. This process can bring coffee to export sooner and tends to impart aspects often associated with coffees from the region, such as heavy body and savory spice notes.
