Kenya AB Top - Kabingara (2018)

This coffee comes to us from the Kabingara coffee factory, which was established in 1988 and rests on a 7 acre piece of land in Kabari, a subregion of Kirinyaga county. Kabingara is a member of the Karinthathi Farmers' Cooperative Society. About 500 active small landholders bring their coffee cherries to the Kabingara Factory – or washing station – for processing. The region has fertile, well-drained red volcanic soil which are ideal for coffee production and the area rests at 1500 masl. The factory is run by a single manager and 6 permanent staff members. This small size of this co-op allows them to focus on quality and invest revenue back into the factory to ensure quality.
