Flores Washed - Laga Lizu (2018 Crop)
About This Coffee
This is a washed coffee from the lesser Sunda Island of Flores in Indonesia. This lot is a blend of three plots located in the surrounding area of the active Wawo Muda Volcano - more specifically in Watu Ata, Ata Gae, and Tubu Tana. Unlike the traditionally wet-hulled coffee known in Indonesia, this lot was wet-processed meant to highlight the nuances of this unique terroir. 'Laga Lizu' was the name chosen by the producers of the area and it means 'above the heavens.' Flores is on of the smallest islands in Eastern Indonesia at only 580 km across. This coffee was harvested from the slopes of the volcano ranges at altitudes of 1300-1500 masl and includes Typica and S795 varieties.
