Brazil Single Estate Microlot - Marcelo Ferraz (Lot 1)

Marcelo Carvalho Ferraz is a farmer from the Mantiqueira de Minas region of Brazil in the south of Minas Gerais state. Marcelo's 34ha  family farm Fazenda Boa Vista boasts altitudes of 1,250masl - amongst the highest altitude for coffee production in Brazil. 

THE PRODUCER

"It all started in 1884 and activities on the farm were passed down from generation to generation," says Marcelo, "In addition to the improvements performed over the years on the production and post-harvest
techniques, Fazenda Boa Vista has excellent land for coffee and an average altitude of 1200masl,
factors that contribute to the excellence of the drink in its final preparation. It can be said that we have the true terroir, that is, the harmonious interaction of the earth with the climate under human abilities."

THE PROCESS

Ripe cherries are dried on cemented patios and finished in mechanical driers. The full process takes 15 days.
